DECEMBER ACHE CATEGORY 1 EDUCATION PROGRAM IN BOCA RATON

On December 12, the Forum held an educational program entitled "The Future of Healthcare Financing" at the Boca Raton Museum of Art. The panelists were Walter Michens, CEO - West Boca Medical Center, Judy Sada, CFO - Memorial Hospital Miramar, and R. Michael White, Senior Manager, Health Sciences Advisory Services, Ernst & Young. The Forum wishes to thank Charles Felix, Publisher of South Florida Hospital News for moderating the event. Over 30 members and guest attended this ACHE Category I program.

NOVEMBER NETWORKING MIXER IN CORAL GABLES

On Thursday, November 29th, the Forum and the Florida Health Care Association co-hosted another successful Networking Mixers at a new location, Giralda Café and Wine Bistro, in Coral Gables. Over 100 attendees enjoyed this great evening event! Special Thank s to our sponsor, Mr. Frank Pena of the FJP Group!

OCTOBER NETWORKING EVENT

On Thursday, October 18th, the Forum held another successful Networking Mixer at a new location, JOHNNY V's on Las Olas Blvd in Ft. Lauderdale. Approximately 40 members and guests enjoyed Johnny V's great atmosphere and food. The Forum's first Gold-level sponsor Healthcare Revenue Recovery Group, LLC was represented by Mr. David Friedlander, Vice President at the event.

SEPTEMBER EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM AT FLORIDA INTERNATION UNIVERSITY

On September 19, the Forum held an educational program entitled How Will FIU's New Medical School Affect the South Florida Healthcare Industry?" at Florida International University's University Park Campus. The guest speakers, Dr. Fernando Valverde and Dr. Pedro Jose ''Joe'' Greer, Jr., assistant deans at the College of Medicine, discussed the health, economic and social impacts of FIU's new medical school to the residents and healthcare industry of South Florida.

The Forum wishes to thank Charles Felix, Publisher of South Florida Hospital News for moderating the event, the faculty and staff of the Department of Health Policy and Management in FIU's Stempel School of Public Health for hosting the educational program and for Morrison Healthcare Food Services for providing dinner "by the bite" for the 100+ members and guest who attended this ACHE Category II program.

JUNE NETWORKING MIXER IN MIAMI

On Thursday, June 21st, the Forum held another successful Networking Mixer at one of our members' favorite locations, Shula's 2 on Main Street in Miami Lakes . Over 45 members and guests enjoyed an evening of great conversation and good food. Four attendees won two gift baskets and two $25 gift certificates for Shula's 2. It was a fun evening for all those attending the Forum's last event until September.

MAY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM AT MERCY HOSPITAL

On May 17, the Forum held an educational program entitled "Healthcare Construction" at Mercy Hospital in Miami. The guest speakers were Sandy Cohan, President, HealthCare Growth Concepts, LLC, and Alan McGregor, President C.A.M. Group, LLC. The Forum wishes to thank Mercy Hospital for hosting the educational program and for providing dinner "by the bite" for the 35+ members and guest who attended this ACHE Category II program.

6TH ANNUAL STUDENT AND EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE

On March 14th, the Forum held the 6th Annual Student Educational and Networking Conference at Memorial Regional Hospital. The guest speaker was Scott Garvis of Dale Carnegie. Mr. Garvis discussed "The Art of Networking - Build Profitable Relationships. View Presentation Over 60 members, students and guests attended. The Forum wishes to thank Memorial Regional Hospital for hosting the educational program for providing dinner "by the bite."

ANNUAL INSTALLATION DINNER 2007
South Florida Healthcare Executive Forum
The Forum's Annual Installation Dinner of its 2007 Board of Directors was held on January 18 at the Miami Beach Resort and Spa. The evening's guest speaker was Brigadier General David A. Rubenstein, FACHE, Commanding General, European Regional Medical Command, U.S. Army, and recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the "100 Most Influential People in Healthcare." Special recognition was given to Marvin O'Quinn, President of the Public Health Trust and CEO of Jackson Health System. Over 125 healthcare professionals attended the event.
