Members Spotlight:

Congratulations to SFHEF's Board Member, Francis Afram-Gyening who recently accepted the position as Chief Executive Officer for Care Alliance Health Center in Cleveland, Ohio!

At the October 17th ACHE dinner for Florida membership held in Lake Buena Vista, Michael Barry, ACHE Regent for Eastern Florida recognized two outstanding SFHEF/ACHE members with the 2007 Eastern Florida Regent's Award.

Zeff Ross, FACHE received this year's Senior Level Regent's Award.
Zeff is the Senior Vice President for West Operations at Memorial Healthcare System in South Florida – one of the largest public healthcare systems in the United States. He is widely known for his outstanding leadership and vision, as well as his quick wit and engaging personality. He has keen fiscal skills and exhibits extraordinary capabilities in strategic planning, physician recruitment and efficient operations – all effectively contributing to the high level of quality care provided at the facilities he manages. And, the patient, employee and physician satisfaction rates at these facilities are some of the most admired in the country.

M. Alexandra Johnson, FACHE received this year's Regent's Award.
Alex is a model healthcare executive. While building her own consulting business during the past six years, she has devoted enormous amounts of time and energies to ACHE and to its independent local chapter, the South Florida Healthcare Executive Forum.

In the mid 1990s, Alex became involved with ACHE and the Forum while pursuing her Master's in Health Services Administration degree from Florida International University. Five years after graduating, Alex left her position with Humana to start her own consulting firm which specializes in physician practice management. In 2000, she opened the doors of Coleman Consulting. Today, Alex has six employees and expanded the firm's services to include home health and DME.
